Ajman Finance organizes a number of events and launches the “Let’s Read” competition

As part of its keenness to establish reading as a general culture in society, the Ajman Department of Finance organized a number of events coinciding with the month of reading under the slogan: “My family reads”, in a move aimed at strengthening the role of the family in supporting the reading process and building bridges of knowledge at the state level.

The department's initiatives come to enhance reading opportunities and spread knowledge in light of its efforts to support the UAE's efforts to build educated generations keen to develop capabilities and skills on an ongoing basis. The department worked to involve the department's employees and their families in the activities that included preparing and publishing educational brochures about the month of reading, its importance and objectives. The department also organized a competition under the title: "Let's Read" to involve the employees' children in choosing stories for each child to read and record that reading. Prizes were distributed to the winners.

Commenting on the importance of this occasion, His Excellency Marwan Ahmed Al Ali, Director General of the Department of Finance in Ajman, said: “The UAE attaches great importance to reading, which is reflected in the launch of the National Reading Strategy 2016-2026. The great educational role played by reading contributes to enhancing children’s skills and motivating them, thus building promising generations that enhance the country’s position as the capital of culture.”

His Excellency added: “Based on the importance of establishing reading habits in the early stages of childhood, and in line with the slogan of the month of reading for 2021, “My family reads,” the Department of Finance was keen this year to organize activities that focus on children and instill in them a love of reading and continuous learning. Therefore, we aim to support the efforts of all national institutions in consolidating the culture of reading among children and making it a permanent societal habit, in line with the vision and aspirations of the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates.”
