Humaid Al Nuaimi approves the budget of the Ajman government for the year 2021, amounting to 2.066 billion dirhams

His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, approved the general budget of the Ajman government for the year 2021 with a balanced value without a deficit of 2.066 billion dirhams, which aims to achieve government strategic priorities, provide the best services and enhance financial sustainability in the emirate.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, stressed that the general budget of the government of Ajman is only a way to achieve and ensure a “happy society.” He said: “The budget for 2021 focuses on several axes, including economic affairs by 40% in addition to public services. This translates to Ajman Vision 2021, which focuses on supporting and developing the emirate’s competitive capabilities in the areas of sustainable development and building a green economy, as well as strengthening partnership with the private sector and activating its developmental role in a way that contributes to achieving social welfare and happiness and increasing individual productivity.

The budget included the approval of housing and community facilities expenditures by 15%, public order and public safety by 13%, environmental protection by 8%, in addition to entertainment, culture and religion by 2%. For his part, Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, representative of His Highness the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Department of Finance, explained that the general budget of the government of Ajman focuses on the continuity of stimulating the emirate’s economy to ensure the achievement of economic growth rates despite the exceptional circumstances caused by the Corona epidemic that swept the entire world in 2020, which will contribute to enhancing the role of Ajman and its position on the regional and global economic map. He pointed out that the budget helps to ensure the financial stability of the emirate and contributes to bringing all data, indicators and results within international financial standards in terms of inflation rates, sectoral spending and other macroeconomic indicators, in addition to strengthening policies to control and rationalize government spending.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi said that the budget enhances the strategic direction of the emirate in developing community facilities and vital areas, preserving the environment and public health, expanding the green area in the emirate, laying the foundations for the promising investment environment, developing areas of investment in human resources and working hard to create a conducive environment that helps them creativity and innovation. By supporting government agencies financially and meeting all their needs to enhance their capabilities in implementing their strategic and operational initiatives and projects.

He added that the budget guarantees access to the highest levels of service for all citizens and residents in the emirate, in accordance with the best standards and practices that contribute to building a happy society in line with Ajman 2021 vision.

For his part, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Tourism Development Department in Ajman, confirmed that the Ajman 2021 budget, which was approved by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, aims to achieve the strategic vision of the state in general and Ajman in particular, and reflects the directives of the wise leadership of the UAE And its comprehensive and renewable view, and the emirate’s budget is flexible and keeps pace with emerging changes in light of the current circumstances, the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, economic and social changes, and the employment of government work teams in the emirate to provide recommendations and proposals on a timely basis, according to the rapid changes.

He said: “Ajman’s 2021 budget aspires to improve the level of well-being and happiness for citizens and residents, enhance financial sustainability and competitiveness, and stimulate the emirate’s overall economy by promoting investment in infrastructure and other economic activities, which achieve a competitive advantage for the emirate and advance it in development gains and provide social support in various ways to citizens and meet their needs in a way that guarantees them social stability and motivates them to give better and contribute seriously and effectively to construction and sustainable development.”

He added that the budget for the year 2021, amounting to 2,066 billion dirhams, was balanced and responsive to all the needs of the emirate and its projects, and in line with the strategic plans and objectives in the emirate, as it paid the greatest attention to strengthening the economic position of the emirate, considering that the economy is the backbone of life and is the most influential and affected by global fluctuations and exceptional circumstances. All sectors estimated percentages of the budget, which varied between infrastructure projects, 22%? Housing and community facilities 15%, public order and public safety 13%, environmental protection 8%, entertainment, culture and religion 2%.

For his part, Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Head of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, stressed that the department enjoys permanent support from the rational government in the emirate, which allocates a large part of the annual budget to enable vital sectors to perform their tasks and move towards thinking about qualitative initiatives that cast a positive shadow on all areas of life. Its value is felt by every individual in society.

He pointed to the department's success during the last period in implementing many road and infrastructure projects, expansion and permanent maintenance, in addition to the continuity of public health and food control projects.
